Great Wyrley Book Launch – Reflections Over the Years

It has taken more than two years of dedicated commitment by a number of people in our society to realise our goal, our book ‘Great Wyrley Reflections’. We are particularly pleased with the result and hope it will be a pleasurable read for everyone. It would not have been possible without the many voluntary contributions provided by colleagues in our community and nearby areas. We want to express our thanks for the support you have all given us, aswell as the support and funding from the lottery.

We hope as many of you can accept our invitaion to join us for a celebratory drink at the book launch on December 12th at Great Wyrley Community Centre. The doors will be open at 7.30pm, starting at 8pm so please come along, we look forward to seeing you. Our book ‘Great Wyrley Reflections‘ is priced at £8, but will be available at the book launch for £6.50.

  1. I’d really like one of these books please, I went to Great Wyrley High School from 1977-80 (I think, I’ve just turned 50). Before that I was at Landywood Junior, which then became Landywood Middle. I was one of those who was kept in middle school for 2 extra years whilst the transition happened. My folks still live in Long Lane, Newtown, but I live in Australia, so for the first time ever I’m not going to ask them to rummage around buying stuff for me! Please can you contact me via email to let me know if I can buy a copy of this book. I’d really appreciate it. If it’s easier, Mum and Dad are coming out here at the end of November, so a delivery to their house to bring it here would be great. Best wishes for a really warm winter for you…. Ruth. x
